I built this for veterans, so I show up in person.

I’m a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer, and I built VA Ready with a team of fellow veterans and people who know the VA claims process inside and out. This is where you’ll find us off the screen, newest first.

Two Air Force Vets, One Airplane

Brent and Gabby flew out of the Waycross-Ware County Airport with Runway One Nine Aviation on September 27. Married, both Air Force, and they took turns at the controls while the other rode in the back and watched.

Runway One Nine framed it as a date idea, which it is, but the part I care about is that both of them actually flew the airplane. I am told there is still some disagreement about who did it better.

I want to expand this and keep putting veterans in the air. The veteran community has a lot to offer the aviation community, and that is why I am behind it.

Our board went up on the jumbotron at Liberty County High School’s homecoming game on September 25, 2026. Panthers were up 14 to 3 in the second quarter when I took this.

This is Fort Stewart country. The people in those stands are the soldiers, veterans and military families I built this for, so I would rather be on the board at their homecoming than buy an ad somewhere they are never going to see it.

A Full Page in the Panther Guide

We have a full page in the 2026 Panther Guide, the program handed out at Liberty County High School home games all season. Same shield, same promise, in print and in people’s hands.

What it says in there: VA Ready and Vet Ready were built by veterans to help other veterans understand their rating, organize their claim, and get everything they have earned. If you are serving, have served, or love someone who has, it is free to download on iPhone and Android.

Our First Veteran Took the Controls

The first of the five discovery flights we’re sponsoring is in the books. Justin flew out of the Waycross-Ware County Airport with Runway One Nine Aviation, left seat, hands on the yoke.

That is the part that matters to me. Not a ride in the back, not a tour of the field. A veteran actually flying the airplane.

Putting Veterans in the Air

We’re sponsoring five free discovery flights for veterans in the Fort Stewart, Waycross and Kings Bay area, in partnership with Runway One Nine Aviation in Waycross, Georgia. A real aircraft and a certificated flight instructor, on us.

I soloed for the first time this summer, and I want to share that with the veterans who earned it. The FAA’s MOSAIC rule, which began taking effect in October 2025, expanded the aircraft a sport pilot can fly. A discovery flight is where that path can start.

Backing the Home Team at Liberty County

We’re sponsoring the Liberty County High School Panthers football team for the full 2026 season. Our name is on the board at Donell Woods Stadium every home game, in Fort Stewart country, in front of the military families we built VA Ready for.

We’d rather earn trust in the stands than buy it in an ad.

On the Road for the Military Community in Texas

We took VA Ready on the road to Copperas Cove, Texas, right outside Fort Hood, to be part of a veterans event and connect with the military community in person.

Showing up where veterans and military families actually are is the whole point. We’d rather be in the room than behind a screen.

I’m a veteran, not a marketing company

No agency went looking for a veteran angle here. I served twenty years in the U.S. Army, retired as a Chief Warrant Officer, and went through the VA claims process myself.

I dug through scattered rules, made my own checklists, and figured out the steps the hard way. Then I built the tool I wish someone had handed me. Read my story.

I don’t do it alone. I built VA Ready with a team of fellow veterans and people with years of hands-on experience in the VA claims process, including helping other veterans through it. They keep the app honest about what claims really look like on the ground.

How we support veterans

Free accredited help comes first

I built the app to point veterans to accredited Veterans Service Organizations like the DAV, the VFW, and county veterans service offices. Their help is free. Find a VSO near you.

Free and private

The core tools are free, with no account. Your claim information stays on your phone. I don’t sell your data, I don’t take a cut of your claim, and nothing I charge is tied to your benefits.

I show up in person

I’d rather meet veterans where they already gather, in the stands and on the flight line, than chase them with ads.

Built from veteran feedback

Veterans send reports straight from the app. My team and I read them, check them against the primary sources, and ship the fixes. A lot of every update started as a message from a veteran.
